Earn While You Learn

This six-week program has been specifically designed to introduce new agents to our Company Philosophy and to provide them with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to be successful in reaching both their personal and business goals.

The course is held in the CBSREC Training Center and runs from 9 am thru to 4 pm daily.  The content assumes a full knowledge of the Principles and Practices of Real Estate and, consequently, all attendees must hold a valid and active Real Estate License with Coldwell Banker Schmitt Real Estate Company.

Students will actively participate in a broad spectrum, activity based learning program which will cover the acquisition of the skills and knowledge required to practice successful real estate as a valued member of our team.  Attendees will actively prospect for new business over the duration of the training and in order to successfully graduate from the Training Center to their field office, each agent will need to attain;

  • 1 (one) Listing
  • 1 (one) Bi-Lateral Contract of Sale

In addition to the above requirement each student will need to have achieved a passing grade of 90% on each of the following skill sets:

  • Single Agency Representation to the Seller
  • Pricing a Property to Sell
  • Preparing a full Comparative Market Analysis for the Seller
  • Delivering a successful CMA in order to agree Price
  • Delivering a full Listing Presentation together with associated
    Addenda and Disclosures
  • Writing up an Exclusive Right of Sale Listing Agreement
  • Agency Representation to the Buyer
  • Buyer Brokerage Agreement
  • Preparing a full Comparative Market Analysis for the Buyer
  • Preparing the ‘As Is’ Contract for Sale and Purchase
  • Delivering and Negotiating the Contract to achieve bilateral status
  • Multiple Offer Protocol
  • Closing-out the Transaction

In order to achieve the high standard of professionalism and quality of customer service required by our Agents, all attendees will be required to sign a letter of commitment to this training and its requirements upon registration.  The course is extensive in content and invaluable to those who are seriously committed to a full and successful career in the Real Estate Industry.  Each attendee will need to commit their time and to apply themselves to full attendance for the duration of this training in order to reach the level of understanding and skills acquisition required to successfully graduate and to move on to their field office.

Upon completion of the program, those students who have not reached the acceptable level of achievement for graduation will meet with their assigned Manager and the Training Director for a review of their progress.

At this stage it is likely that one of the following options may be offered.

  1. To move to their field office under the supervision of their Manager and to return to the Training Center for further instruction two days per week, until the required level of achievement is attained through further training and re-evaluation.
  1. To register as a student in our Fast Forward Program - an intensive three-day course, primarily designed to familiarize newly recruited experienced agents into our Company or to re-affirm knowledge and skills for those Agents who have been with CBSREC a number of years. 

This training is a fast-moving three-day overview of the entire Earn While You Learn Program which would offer a quick and valuable review of all subject content, principles and practices.  Upon completion the student would be re-evaluated within the previously failed skill sets from the original Earn While You Learn training in order to achieve graduated status.
