Florida Keys, January 29, 2013 - The Coldwell Banker Schmitt Charitable Foundation (CBSCF), hosted a benefit for fire victim Tanya Rossi (a.k.a. “Peaches”), an employee of US1 Radio, who lost her Key West home in a fire on January 7, 2013.

 

The benefit was held at Boondocks Grill & Draft House on Ramrod Key January 29 and was a huge success with over 175 people, including US1 Radio personnel, raising $6,421 from Bingo and Silent Auction proceeds.   Musicians Terry Cassidy and Gary Hempsey also donated their tip money for the night.

 

Howard Livingston from the Mile Marker 24 band was the guest Bingo Caller.  Howard raffled off his signature Margarita maker, which netted $200.

 

Brian Schmitt, president and broker, said, “We’re very pleased with the community turnout and appreciative of the support.  This cause exemplifies the mission of the Coldwell Banker Schmitt Charitable Foundation and being there for Tanya Rossi gives us a great sense of fulfillment.”

The CBSCF is a 501(c) 3 tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation.  Since its inception in April 2002, the Foundation has raised over $1,022,000 to help Keys residents whose critical needs are not being met through other means.  The funds are donated to the Foundation through the generosity of Coldwell Banker Schmitt Real Estate agents, staff, associates, business partners and the general public.  All donations are 100 percent tax deductible.  100 percent of the contributions made to the Foundation are distributed within the Florida Keys, and no administrative costs are deducted by the Foundation.
